Safe Haven's residential program provides adolescent boys with the environment, relationships, and skills they need to stabilize and grow.

Safe Haven Care Group provides a structured, trauma-informed residential program for adolescent boys ages 10–18. Our program is designed to create the conditions for stabilization — consistent routines, clear expectations, supportive adult relationships, and meaningful skill development.
Youth in our program benefit from a structured daily schedule, individualized support, and a residential environment that feels like a home rather than an institution. We focus on building the internal skills and personal accountability youth need to move forward successfully.

Evening routines include recreation, community meals, and structured reflection to close the day positively.
Night Wind-down routine and supervised rest
Consistent evening routines and supervised rest support healthy sleep habits and emotional regulation.
Our trauma-informed approach recognizes that many youth in our care have experienced adverse childhood experiences, family instability, trauma, and loss. We understand that challenging behavior is often a response to unmet needs or past trauma — not a character flaw.
Staff are trained to respond to behavior with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment and punishment. We focus on understanding the underlying needs driving behavior and responding in ways that build trust, safety, and skill.
Safety
Creating physical and emotional safety as the foundation for all growth.
Trustworthy
Maintaining transparency and consistency so youth can trust the adults around them.
Peer Support
Fostering a positive peer environment that supports growth and accountability.
Empowerment
Building youth agency, voice, and confidence through skill development and positive experiences.
Cultural Sensitivity
Honoring each young person's background, identity, and individual experience.
Our behavioral framework is built on clear expectations, consistent consequences, and a genuine belief in each young person's capacity for growth. We use a structured, positive behavioral approach that emphasizes skill-building over punishment — helping youth understand the connection between choices, behavior, and outcomes.
Clear Expectations
Youth understand exactly what is expected of them and why — no surprises, no moving targets.
Consistent Responses
Staff respond to behavior consistently and predictably, building trust and reducing anxiety.
Natural Consequences
Where appropriate, youth experience the natural consequences of their choices in a safe, supported environment.
Skill-Building Focus
Behavioral challenges are treated as opportunities to develop new skills and coping strategies.
